What's In the FRIIDDDGGGEEE!!!???!!! Friday!

I LOVE BREAKFAST!

The cupboards and fridge were pretty bare this morning, which means I had to get super creative and/or need to visit my boy Trader Joe. Continuing; here's the little number I managed to make.

Scrounged up Food:
- Potato (shredded)
- Bacon (ends & pieces)
- Lentils
- Mushrooms
- Garlic (diced)
- Egg
- Avocado
- S&P
- Sriracha

Cooked down the bacon in a skillet, added everything but the egg and sriracha and cooked it for 5-7 minutes. Cracked the mother F in egg on top and popped it in the oven for another 10 or so. After the egg seemed cooked I topped it with the sliced avocado and some sriracha and HOUSED it!

Nap Time.

What's in the FRIIIDDDGGGEEE!?! Friday!

It's been a couple weeks since my last update, but it is Friday and I was hungry so here we go:

So you ready for this one? I had no idea it was going to be this good. And it did look way better in person.

The cast of characters;
onion
2 shiitake mushrooms
2 jalepanos
panko bread crumbs
canola oil
mozzerella cheese
raspberries
cilantro vinnigerette
butter lettuce
s & p

I started off by caramelizing some onions in a small pan on low heat. Popped some beautiful butter lettuce on a plate.  After they were done, I put the onions aside and heated some canola oil in the same pan.  I then sliced some shiitake mushrooms longways (don't know the culinary term for that).  Lightly egg-washed the mush, coated them in panko breadcrumbs and fried them puppies up to a light brown.  Halved some jalapenos, longways again, de-seeded, egg-washed, panko-breaded, and fried em like the mushrooms. After they browned I placed the mush and penos on a paper towel to drain some of the oils. Alright all 'cooking' is done.
Now, I cubed the mozzarella cheese and sprinkled it over the bed of lettuce. Strategically placed some raspberries on this same bed of lettuce. I then did the same with the fried mushrooms and jalapenos.  Lightly dressed the entire salad with some Trader Joe's Cilantro Dressing and some salt and pepper.

Done.

Sweet Baby Heysus, that was a random and pretty awesome salad.

Stay tuned for next week.

What's in the FRIIIDDDGGGEEE?!?!

I eat EVERYTHING and grocery shop without a plan. Now I must continue my amateur culinary adventures and settle an unwavering hunger by opening up to see;

What's In the Fridge!?!

Creepy guy with the bow tie wants to know...
(From episode of The Twilight Zone entitled What's in the Box?)

What I found: half a jar of prepared HORSERADISH, last remnants of some PESTO, couple o slices o italian-style TURKEY BREAST, some squarsies of JARLSBERG CHEESE, part of a WHITE ONION, not yet ripe ROMA TOMATOES, BABY SPINACH, and Trader Joe's PANINI RUSTIC ROLLS.

- I only have cast iron pans (had to reteach myself to cook with em), so I got one hot and caramelized the sliced onion. It takes a couple of ticks so i built up my sangy in the meant time.
- I spread the horseradish and pesto on the bottom roll (where I like it) and gingerly folded some turkey over  it.
- On the other half I started with ze cheese and then some thinly sliced Roma tomato.
- Finished that side with the baby spinach
- After the onion was caramelized I put it on the turkey and made my sandwich kiss MUAH!
- Kept the pan on heat, buttered both sides of the roll and got her a sizzlin'.  Pressed the sandwich down with my cutting board and flipped it after 90 seconds or so, repeating the press.  Put my EVOO bottle and a beer on top for extra weight.
- Spatulaed 'er out and I was done.

If you think of a name for my sandwich, let me know, because I'm just going to stick with 'GONE'. Finished that baby in 2 minutes!

Hope you liked today's post.
Looking for some staple ingredients to add to my fridge so please give me some input and ideas.

THANKS!
